Artist Application

The living Shibari Gallery

First and foremost, thank you for wanting to participate in Bound Affairs. This event allows riggers access to a beautiful gallery in New York City, where they can perform their work live. This is an event where people will be tying people regardless of age, gender, or self-expression; it is our hope to make this event as inclusive as possible. This is a 7-hour event; please make sure you plan accordingly. We do not expect any artist or models to work continuously for 7 hours but plan to fill the time as best you can. Artists may bring up to 3 models to work with. Please be respectful of the space and others working around you. The venue will be available the day before and the morning of the event. You can take this time to set up and familiarize yourself with the space. The link below will lead you to a Google form where you can apply; a follow-up email will be sent about your application once we’ve made a determination.

  • Bound Affairs is, first and foremost, about the art of shibari. This is an all-inclusive event, and all are welcome.

  • Applications are due by July 31, 2024

  • Artists are responsible for finding their own models to work with.

  • Artists and their models are responsible for their own travel and housing accommodations.

  • If you apply and do not have a social media presence please email me photos of your work.

  • Artists are responsible for bringing their own supplies, including, but not limited to, ropes, carabiners, rings, chairs, etc.

  • If you intend to perform suspensions, you are responsible for your rig. Bound Affairs has a limited number of rigs that can be loaned.

  • Models must have their genitals covered during this event. Being topless is allowed, as well as thongs, jocks, and dance belts.

  • Although our work may be erotic in nature please refrain from any sexual acts during the event. This does not stop you from being passionate, sensual, or erotic with your partner.

  • This is an all-day event, so plan accordingly and check in with your models regularly. Take breaks, switch ties, and alternate models as needed.

  • A photo and liability release form must be signed by all artists and models before the event.
